Are you interested in being more creative, and discovering and recovering your creative self?
Join a small group of us (a collective of sorts) to work together through The Artist’s Way.
What is The Artist’s Way?
The Artist’s Way is a book and self-study process created by Julia Cameron. The goal of the program is to guide you through the process of discovering and becoming more confident in your creativity. The book introduces a set of core tools supported by 12 weeks of readings and exercises.
What is a Creative Cluster?
A ‘creative cluster’ is a group process for doing the step-by-step process outlined in The Artist’s Way.
This cluster is open to all - those that have gone through the process before and first-timers. It will be my first time reading the book and going through the full process. I feel it would be fun and interesting to do it with others!

The Group Process
The Artist’s Way (Book) will be a guide and a text for the group and we will be following the “creative cluster” guidelines suggested by the author of The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron. You can read her Guide for Starting Creative Clusters here.
Live Group Sessions
We will meet for 13 live sessions (1 - 1 ½ hour’s each Tuesday)
Each session will include a group discussion reflecting on the week that has just been completed.
The first meeting will be a chance for you to introduce yourself and we will discuss the Introduction, Spiritual Electricity, and The Basic Tools sections of the book.
We will begin Week 1 of the book in the second meeting.
Self-study
There is a self-study element to the process outlined in The Artist’s Way. You should plan to set aside 30 mins per day for daily activity, a few hours per week for reading and exercises, and the time for the weekly meeting.
Group Facilitation
I will coordinate the group throughout the process and get us started by hosting the welcome session and the Week 1 session. Julia Cameron writes in the guidelines, ‘Each person is equally a part of the collective, no one more than another.’ To support this, during the welcome session we will discuss the option of sharing responsibilities for facilitating the discussions during the additional sessions. (No Pressure! so do not let this stop you from joining the group).
What you will need to participate:
A copy of The Artist's Way if you do not already have one. I currently use the 2020 UK edition, but any edition will work. You can use a digital or printed copy, whichever you prefer. You can purchase a copy from Amazon or support a local bookshop, where possible.
A dedicated notebook or journal, something to write with.
A computer or device with the ability to connect your camera and microphone to an online zoom session. You should have a quiet space to meet on Tuesdays to join the sessions.
Join in if you feel called to! Sign up below.

FAQs:
How many people will be participating?
As this will be my first time going through process and my first event at Speak to the Heart, my intention is to initially host a small group of 4-8 people. However the max group size I will accommodate will be 12 people.
Do I have to attend all the sessions?
You are not required to attend all of the sessions, but the process will work best if the participants are interested in actively contributing and showing up for one another.
Do I have to be an artist to participate?
You do not have to formally consider yourself an artist to benefit. If you are an artist, you are also welcome. The process can benefit anyone interested in getting in touch with their creativity.
What if I have done The Artist’s Way before? Can I do it again?
Yes, this group is open to those who are new to the process and those who are more experienced. Having a mix would be great! If you have started the process, but not finished it before, doing it with a group could help you work through the process.
Do I need to read the whole book in advance?
No. Each week during the 12 weeks we will move progressively through the reading and exercises in the book. Read the chapter and do the exercises in advance of each week’s call. We will discuss the highlights together.
